Kompsat 2, also known as Arirang 2 EO, is a South Korean (KARI) remote sensing craft that was launched by a Rokot rocket (a modified ICBM, SS-19) from Plesetsk at 07:05 UT on 28 July 2006. The 800 kg craft carries imaging systems to yield high-resolution, multispectral images of Earth's surface.
