GSAT 18 is an Indian geostationary satellite to park at at 74 degrees east longitude, where its 48 C-band and Ku-band transponders will replace communications coverage offered by some of the country's aging relay spacecraft. The communications satellite mission is valued at $153 million, including launch costs, and will support television, digital news gathering, data and other telecommunications services during its 15-year mission.
